You can always try a henna which is a natural product to lighten hair.

I would say dieng is your best choice, or highlights, because yes, bleaching does make dark hair orange.

if you use vodka and lemon juice and go into the sun that is a natural way of highlighting your hair...best bet would be to go to your local hair salon and ask a professional! Usually when you are dark headed and you try to go lighter(blonde) it will turn an orangish-copper color if you do it yourself!

to lighten dark hair, the only way to do it properly and effectively is to go to your salon. really thats the only way.

use some sunin. its in the hair products isle. you just spray it in your hair before you go in the sun and its gets lighter.

since your hair is naturally dark you could try using a hi-lift light brown color that you chose. i recomend you try a Sally Beauty supply (they are pretty much the only place you can get professional color without being professional)

they sell a line by Loreal "for dark hair only" they will probably have a shade you will like.

but yes, dying your hair is prettymuch your only option, even with bleach darker hair will turn out more on the orangy-yellow-red side.

(you definatly dont need to bleach since this is you natural hair color, bleach will dry your hair out and bring it to the brink of death lol)

(and with a lightener like "sun-in" the results will vary greatly person to person, you for sure won't be able to turn your hair light brown from almost black using just this product, and your hair will see some damage as Sun-In is almost 80% hydrogen peroxide, you will use peroxide when you dye your hair anyways..)
